Real Estate Agent in Colorado

There are 5 main steps to obtaining your real estate license in Pueblo
1.) Select a school where you will take your classes (recommended schools below). Complete 168 hours of approved pre-licensing education per Colorado’s Division of Real Estate under the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). Obtain a certificate of completion from the real estate school where you completed your education
2.) Schedule, take, and pass the Colorado real estate broker licensing exam with PSI Exams
3.) Submit fingerprints to Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and complete the background check requirement
4.) Acquire errors and omissions insurance
5.) Find a real estate company to work under and complete license application with eLicense through the Colorado Division of Real Estate’s Online Services
How much does it cost to get a Colorado real estate license?
The fixed costs once you pass your test and decide on a brokerage firm to work for includes:
Broker license application fee – $485.00
Broker Examination Fee – $90
Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) fingerprint submission fee – $39.50
Errors & Omissions Insurance ($1,000,000 liability insurance) approximately $225 a year depending on insurance carrier.
Is there a time limit between completing the state exam and applying for licensure?
You will have one year from the time you complete your licensing courses to apply for a Colorado real estate broker license. After one year, broker candidates must retake the exam before applying for their license.
What are the on-going costs to being a real estate agent?
Once you obtain your license and have secured a brokerage to work with the on-going costs of being a real estate agent is very minimal.

Annual Pueblo Association of REALTORS® Dues – $566 – includes membership in the Colorado Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS and a voluntary $25 REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC)
